Spa days are not just your normal days. It requires some planning and thinking; it’s about modifying your likes and dislikes to the right spa. And if you’re wanting some unwinding during a day at the spa, then knowing how to maximize your experience should be on your mind! You want to make sure that you get the best returns without breaking a hole in your pocket.

Here are several ways you can consider if you want to stretch your spa-time to the max!

#1 KNOW THE TIME AND SCHEDULE

It’s very important to ask when you can use the spa facilities, especially if you’re visiting a hotel spa. Checking in and out at the hotel will be at specific times, but don’t worry because you can normally use the spa before or after your stay. You may place your luggage in the car (or request the hotel to store it for you) and finish your trip on an ecstatic high note.

For instance, if you’re scheduled into a day spa experience, you must arrive on time and stay as long as you possibly can. Have yourself enjoy some arrival drinks for a few extra minutes as this is included in many spa days. This will help you to relax after your journey and get your bearing. If you think that you can’t manage to spend the whole day there, you may try looking for afternoon or evening spa packages. It’s a good alternative of squeezing some spa time into a busy schedule and a few spas open until 9 or 10 pm.

#2  PREPARE YOUR STUFF

Bring a small bag to the spa with you because some lockers have a little space. You may pack a hairbrush and two bikini bottoms or swimsuits to keep away from damp lunch; spas provide robes and towels, so you are going to need some few stuff only. Most spas charge extra for flip-flops, so it might be best to bring your own. But you can always contact them beforehand to check if the provide them for free. Spas usually provide shampoo, conditioner body wash and body lotion. If they don’t, you can try the testers in the boutiques (this is a secret!).

#3 TRY SOMETHING NEW

Usually, people already know what service they want before scheduling an appointment, regardless if it’s a spa facial or deep tissue massage. Try to forget your favourite treatment for a while and grab the opportunity to see all of their options on the service menu–you may even come upon a new favourite!

#4 TALK TO YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST OR ESTHETICIAN

Don’t be shy! Communication is the answer when it comes to getting the most of your treatment. Prior to your massage service, you may want to let your therapist identify if you’re feeling particularly stressed or sore in a certain area. They will regulate their pressure, stay away from or focus on a certain region to provide an effective and enjoyable experience. Also, make sure that you inform your esthetician if you have any skin irritations or problem areas before the sessions starts

#5 EAT LIGHT AND HEALTHY BEFOREHAND

Try not to get yourself bloated or gassy during a spa day, because things will just get worse. To do that, simply avoid unhealthy foods and opt for a nice healthy and light meal. You can try juices, smoothies, eggs, acai bowls, are some of the food options that you can eat that will be filling without feeling heavy.

It may be better to be check if your spa day includes any food. And if you are going to stay at the spa for a few hours, ensure that you have access to more light and healthy snacks or a meal. If you’re or too full, it will prevent you from getting that relaxing experience.
