Ribbed cotton fabrics are created by intermeshing loops of yarns using knitting needles. Depending on the direction in which the loops are formed, knitted fabrics may be broadly categorized into two types—warp knitted fabrics and weft knitted fabrics. By controlling the loop geometry and density, a wide variety of knitted fabrics can be produced. Because of the looped structure, the maximum fibre volume fraction of knitted fabric composites is lower than that of the woven or braided fabric composites. Weft knitted fabrics are less stable, stretchable and distortion more easily than warp knitted fabrics, they are also more formable. In order to enhance the mechanical properties, yarns can be integrated into the knit loops. In this way, fabric can be tailored for having stable properties in certain directions and conformability
Mittal Traders is one of the largest chain industries as a rib fabric wholesaler in India. Rib fabric is an elastic material, made by yarns initially formed into loops and then interconnected in order to produce a textile structure. Knit fabrics do not have a weave. However, traditional for other fabric types and the system of weft and warps threads is preserved. The feature of knitwear is that it can stretch as you like due to the loops, which can change the size and shape.
The main raw materials for ribbed fabrics are silk, linen, cotton, wool, viscose and many more. Many manufacturers add numerous of synthetic materials to achieve the best combination of quality and durability.
There are two main ways of manufacturing of knit fabrics: warp knitting and weft knitting. The ways differ with the process of knitting.. Weft knitted fabrics is made of one thread interlocked horizontally.
Ribbed fabric is unique and an ultimate process in that it possesses a high order of elasticity and recovery and ribbed fabric suppliers owned a very good quality of woven yarn with ribbed. Unlike woven fabric, which achieves a low degree of elongation, ribbed fabric can be stretched to a considerable length and yet, when it is released, it will gradually return to its original shape and configuration. Only this feature of the fabric, and the air permeability arising from its looped structure, that imparts the product well-furnished and put it the following properties: a high degree of wrinkle resistance, good drape, a high degree of comfort, a porous nature allowing the skin to breathe freely, and allowing high elasticity.
A major contribution has been given by the ribbed fabrics to the following two aspects of industry:
- Saving time and money: If there is a defect, the ribbing machine has to be stopped to correct the fault, resulting in lost time, which is uneconomical in the production process. It increases the subsequent remedial costs of the fabric finishing and garment manufacturing process as a result of defective fabric.
- Reducing customer discontent: It is required to met the requirements of the customers for ribbed fabric, which may cause a bad impact on the company’s reputation.
